In the EODB index, \u2018higher rankings\u2019 (a lower numerical value) indicate better, usually simpler, regulations for businesses and stronger protections of property rights.<\/p>\n<p>The research presents data for 1901 economies and aggregates information from 10 areas of business regulation:<\/p>\n<p>Starting a Business<\/p>\n<p>Dealing with Construction Permits<\/p>\n<p>Getting Electricity<\/p>\n<p>Registering Property<\/p>\n<p>Getting Credit<\/p>\n<p>Protecting Minority Investors<\/p>\n<p>Paying Taxes<\/p>\n<p>Trading across Borders<\/p>\n<p>Enforcing Contracts<\/p>\n<p>Resolving Insolvency<\/p>\n<p>Rankings and weights on each of the mentioned parameters are used to develop an overall EoDB ranking.
